What’s The Weather Like: Not sure I need to say much here….we all know what the bloody weather has been like! Wind, wind, wind….rain….wind….and I think there was some wind? The past week has seen those of us in the U.K. become familiar with the names Dudley, Eunice and Franklin and there has been some real devastation to garden and plots all over the place. I hope that, wherever you are, that you’re safe and your growing has had as little impact as possible!

Finding lots of little broken eggs on the ground in the garden under the huge conifer at the back – wonder whether it’s just that time of year or the wind has been causing them to fall from the tree?
What I’m Doing: It’s been a really rough week for getting outside, I’m guessing you’ll all agree with me on that. The wind and rain hasn’t exactly made it an inviting prospect getting outside…thank god for the potting shed and zippy!
I’ve been in full on planning mode and I think I’ve well and truly been bitten by the ‘grow your own’ bug! There are now plans to for chillis, blueberries, potatoes, carrots, garlic and I might throw in some salad too if I can find space! The chillis have been sown and they’re germinating well, will be soon time to pot them on. The rest is on the way…
The chillis are showing! We’ve got Jalapenos, Cherry Bomb and Fiery Lights on the go this year. They’ve germinated really quickly in the coir coins from Coir Products UK inside the heated propagator – amazing what a little bit of warmth can do!

What I’m Sowing This Week: This week has been fairly quiet with seeds and the only thing I’ve sown are some Echinacea ‘Green Twister’ which I’d received from @theaccidental_gardeners (on Instagram) and I sent them some of my Cosmos ‘Apricot Lemonade’. I do love a seed swap! More sowing to do next week!
What is Germinating!: Other than the chillis, I’ve had ONE Verbena Bonariensis germinate (despite the fact that they’ve been in sunlight and they need dark!) and a few more sweet peas.

This one is full of white and purple tulips (and some daffs) for a little grow that I’m doing as part of a local Facebook gardening group! Wish me luck!
Anything Else? I’ve finally settled on a plan for where I’m growing my sweet peas this year so I’ll show you that next week hopefully! SO SO excited! It looks amazing in my head so hopefully it’ll all pan out *fingers crossed*! So many bulbs coming up now too – the planter in the front garden is really filling out…its a mixture of purely white and purple tulips, should look amazing!!
